Concrete contractor services in Temecula, CA

Cornerstone Temecula Concrete Works is a concrete contractor in Temecula, CA, with 16 services that run from new driveways and patios to footings and foundation raising. Most calls start with something you can see, like a cracked or sinking slab or water pooling by the house. The price mostly turns on the size and thickness of the slab, how much old concrete and dirt comes out first, and the finish, since a broom finish, the light brushed texture that gives shoes grip, costs less than stamped. The schedule turns on any permit and inspections and on curing, the time new concrete needs to harden before you use it. Your free estimate is written out step by step, so you see each part.

  • A wide, pale concrete driveway leads to a brown house with a two-car garage, bordered by flower beds and lawn.

We dig out, pack the base and pour new concrete driveways thick enough for your cars, with joints cut so cracks land where we planned them.

  • A stamped concrete patio beside a brick house has wicker seating, colorful cushions, potted flowers, and a raised planter.

Want a spot for a table and grill? We build concrete patios sloped away from the house so rain runs off instead of pooling by your door.

  • Wood-look stamped concrete patio beside a wood-paneled home, with broad steps and glass doors.

Stamped concrete is a regular slab pressed with a pattern and colored while it's still wet, so a patio or walk can look like stone or brick.

  • A raised concrete porch and adjoining sidewalk wrap around a stone-faced house, with a downspout and decorative rock beds.

We build sidewalks and front walks for homeowners, property managers and small businesses, set at the right height and slope so they're easy to walk and shed water.

  • Wide stone-faced retaining walls frame concrete steps leading up a grassy slope to a house.

Need a floor that holds your car and a workbench? We pour garage floors on a packed base with a smooth finish that's easy to sweep.

  • Stamped concrete walkway and porch in warm stone tones lead to a brick house with red chairs and dark mulch beds.

Decorative concrete covers the finishes beyond plain gray, like color, exposed pebble and stamped patterns, for homeowners who want a patio or walk to match the house.

  • A large swimming pool is bordered by a light gray concrete patio with metal ladders, lounge chairs, and shaded dining areas.

Where a yard steps down, a retaining wall holds the soil, and we pour ours with a footing underneath and drainage behind so water has a way out.

  • Gray concrete pool deck with a white diving board, stone edging, and flower beds.

We pour the slab floor inside a shop, barn, storage building or addition, set level and finished smooth or textured for how you'll use the space.

  • A stamped concrete pool deck beneath a timber pavilion features a dining set, stone fireplace, and swimming pool.

New pool going in? We pour a concrete deck with a textured finish for wet feet, sloped so splash runs off instead of puddling.

  • Concrete steps and walkways cross landscaped garden beds with flowers, lawn, and small black path lights.

We build concrete steps to a front door, patio or slope, with every step the same height and depth so they're easy to climb.

  • Concrete driveway and walkway bordered by gravel, white river stones, and landscaped planting beds.

A slab foundation is the concrete pad an addition, garage or house is built on. We pour it on packed ground with steel rebar to hold it together.

  • Stamped concrete patio with a gray-brown stone pattern enclosed by a wooden privacy fence.

Building an addition or a new home? We dig and pour the footings and foundation walls it stands on, built to the approved plans.

  • Decorative concrete patio with a pale stone pattern, outdoor seating, planters, and black railings beside a house.

For property managers and small business owners, we build concrete parking lots thick enough for daily traffic, graded so water drains off and jointed to control cracking.

  • White-railed wooden deck beneath a white pergola, furnished with chairs and surrounded by flowering plants.

Footings are the concrete set in the ground under walls, posts and patio covers. We dig and pour them so the weight rests on firm soil.

  • Curving concrete sidewalk bordered by dense tropical plants, red flowers, mulch and trimmed lawn.

Doors sticking or cracks climbing a wall? When part of a foundation has settled, we raise it back toward level and look at what made it sink.

  • Textured concrete patio and broad steps lead to a house, bordered by dark mulch, stone and greenery.

Concrete cutting opens a slab for a plumbing trench or new doorway, or takes out a broken section, with a straight saw cut that leaves the rest whole.

Why homeowners hire our concrete crew

Most concrete trouble traces back to something nobody explained before the pour. These four habits come from years of fixing other people's slabs, and they're how we run each job.

  • The plan, shown on your ground

I walk the job with you, marking where the slab sits, how deep we dig and which way the water runs, so you understand what we're building before we pour.

  • Built for the spots that fail

I spent my first working years patching sunken walks and broken steps for a property manager. Much of that trouble started underneath, so we dig out and pack the base a slab sits on instead of raking it level.

  • A written estimate you can compare

Your free estimate lists each step, from tear-out and base work to forming, pouring and finish, so you can see what's included and hold it up fairly against another contractor's number.

  • Your part of the job, spelled out

Before we start, you'll know what's on your side, like what to mark in the yard, who to check with and how to treat the new concrete while it cures.

How a concrete job runs, start to finish

Here's what happens after you reach out, from our reply within one business day to the free written estimate and the day we walk the finished job together.

  1. Call or send the form

Call (951) 466-2622 or use the contact form to tell us what you have in mind and where. We reply within one business day and set a time for me to come out. If your city isn't on this site, ask anyway, since we work across Riverside County and north San Diego County.

  2. I look at the site with you

I meet you there, measure, and show you on the ground how I'd build it, including which way the slab falls for drainage and where we'd cut control joints, the grooves that give a crack a straight place to run. Then you get a free written estimate with no obligation.

  3. We permit it and pour it

Once you say go, we work out which city or county office the job goes through, pull any permit it needs and set up the inspections. Our own crew digs out and packs the base, sets the forms, and times the pour to miss the midday heat, which can leave a weak, dusty top.

  4. Walk-through at the end

When the work is done, I go over the finished job with you. I'll tell you how to look after the new concrete while it cures and when it's ready for foot traffic and then for cars, and our crew cleans up before we leave.

Tell us about the concrete job you have in mind

Temecula, our home base for concrete work

Temecula is where we're based, a city of newer neighborhoods with an older core in Old Town Temecula, where historic buildings sit alongside antique dealers, shops and restaurants. Next to Old Town, the Temecula Valley Museum in Sam Hicks Monument Park offers exhibits, lectures and workshops on local history, culture and art, and Ronald Reagan Sports Park is the city park that holds the Community Recreation Center.

Across the city we pour new driveways and patios, replace walks and steps that have sunk or cracked, and build retaining walls where a backyard steps down. Inside city limits the city's offices set the permit and inspection rules, and when a job sits in Murrieta, Wildomar or another nearby city, we do the same work and find out which office handles it there.

Questions about concrete work in Temecula

How much does a new concrete driveway cost in Temecula?

It depends on your driveway, so I give you a figure after measuring it on site rather than guessing over the phone. Beyond size and finish, the price moves with tearing out and hauling off the old slab, whether a concrete truck can reach the spot and how much work the base needs. Your written estimate breaks out each of those.

Is it better to spend on the base or the finish of a concrete patio?

Spend on the base and save on the finish if the budget is tight. Nobody sees the base on day one, so it's often the first thing cut, and a slab on loose dirt settles with the dirt. You can usually dress up a plain slab later, but a sinking one has to be torn out.

How long before I can use my driveway after new concrete is poured?

That depends on curing, and I'll tell you at the walk-through when the slab is ready for feet and when it's ready for cars. Walking comes first because a car puts far more weight on young concrete. The start date also turns on any permit and inspections, which I'll go over at the estimate.

Does a concrete contractor need a license in Temecula?

Usually yes, because the California Contractors State License Board says a license applies when a project needs a building permit, uses any extra workers, or its contracts add up to $1,000 or more in labor and materials. The City of Temecula also requires a business license from anyone doing business inside city limits, including contractors based outside it. We're licensed and fully insured.

Who schedules the building inspections on a concrete job in Temecula?

The city holds the property owner responsible for making sure every required inspection happens, but the contractor can schedule them and be there, and we do. The work has to stay open and visible until the inspector approves it, and the permit, approved plans and job card need to be on site.

Do you guarantee your concrete work?

Yes, our work is satisfaction guaranteed. Before we pour, you'll know what concrete will and won't do, and at the end I go over the finished job with you so your questions get answered while we're still there.

Will my new concrete driveway crack like the old one?

Concrete can still crack, but a well-built slab cracks less and in the places we chose. We dig out and pack the base so the slab doesn't settle with the dirt, set rebar where the job calls for it, and cut control joints on time so a crack follows the groove. Sloping the slab away from the house also keeps water from soaking the ground under it.

Who issues building permits for concrete work in Temecula?

Inside city limits, the City of Temecula's Building Department handles plan check, permits and inspections. Work that involves grading or meets the street can also involve the city's Land Development Division, which handles grading, encroachment and right of way permits. Outside city limits a different office handles it, and we work out which one when we pull the permit.
